Our Pastor
The Reverend Sherrie Hofmann was Ordained as a Minister of the Word and Sacrament in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) in May 2005. She was Called as Pastor to Prince of Peace in October 2021. Pastor Hofmann previously served as Pastor to Lakeside Lutheran Church, in Littleton, North Carolina. She served as Intentional Interim Pastor to New Hope Lutheran Parish - Christ, Claysburg and St. Luke, Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania. She served as Pastor to St Luke's Lutheran Church in Rockwood, Pennsylvania . Her first call was to the Mason Jackson Lutheran Shared Ministry, a five-point parish. The congregations included Our Savior, Ravenswood; St Mark and Zion, Letart; St Paul, New Haven: and St Peter, Point Pleasant, all located in West Virginia.
Pastor Hofmann graduated in 2005 with a Master of Divinity degree from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. While in seminary she completed a summer-long chaplain residency at the UPMC Western Maryland Hospital in Cumberland, Maryland and a yearlong internship at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Petersburg, West Virginia.
She holds a certificate in Rural and Small Town ministry from the Town and Country Church Institute at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. She earned a certificate in Intentional Interim Ministry through the Lutheran Transitional Ministry Association and completed Mediator Skills Training with Lombard Mennonite Peace Center.
Pastor Hofmann completed her undergraduate education at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington, receiving a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance in May 1996.
A native of Baker, West Virginia, she is a veteran of the United States Air Force with 18 years’ service. She earned the rank of
Master Sergeant. She is a graduate of The Community College of the Air Force with two Associate Degrees. Her positions and qualifications in the Air Force include Aerospace Ground Equipment Maintainer, Master Technician, Master Instructor, Quality Assurance Evaluator and Budget Analyst.
She is married to Scott, her husband of 46 years, a retired Air Force Master Sergeant. They have two children, 2 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and 4 rescue cats.
