In need of some quiet time and space for personal prayer or reflection? Stop in Friday mornings anytime from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and enjoy some solitude for as little or long as you like. Coffee and sweets on us.
This Advent Season, we will be collecting special offerings to aid seniors in our community who live with limited abilities to leave home and who often struggle to make ends meet. About 21.8% of residents of Shenandoah County are aged 65 and older. Statewide, nearly one in ten seniors (65+) live in poverty, so the statistics in our county are likely very similar or higher.
Our Advent season donations will support the The Good Shepherd ministry, part of Shenandoah Valley Local Ministry, which provides 65 care packages quarterly and an additional 35 care packages monthly to homebound seniors in our county. These packages are more than just supplies — they’re a reminder to each recipient that they are seen, cared for, and valued. During fellowship in December, we will also sign holiday cards to go with the care packages.
If you would like to make a donation, please designate your check written to Prince of Peace with Sheparding Joy or "SJ" in the memo line. Contributions are appreciated by December 14.
