Come and See!
Our congregation gathers locals who grew up in Orkney Springs and Basye, newcomers who fell in love with the mountains and valleys of western Virginia, and vacationers who join us whenever they visit Bryce Resort or Shrine Mont. You are invited to join us in our worship and service in the name of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Come and see what God is doing in our community!
Our church building rests on a bend in Route 263, between Orkney Springs and Basye. When headed west on 263 from Mount Jackson, go past the entrance to Bryce Resort (Resort Drive) and the Orkney Springs Fire and Rescue on the left and the Valley Thrift Store on the right. We are on the right hand side of the road, waiting for you!

Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Robert Wise grew up in Woodstock, Virginia and attended Woodstock Elementary School and Central High School. For many years, his father Reverend Gerald Wise was the Pastor of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Woodstock.
Pastor Wise has almost twenty nine years of ministry experience in both rural and suburban settings. He received his Master of Divinity degree from Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, Pa. He was ordained on July 15th, 1990 by Bishop Michael McDaniel of the North Carolina Synod. In addition to his Master of Divinity, Pastor Wise has a BS degree in Biology from Roanoke College and an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Lord Fairfax Community College in Middletown, Va. Before he was a Pastor, he had a financial planning business in Westminster, Md.
His first parish was Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant, North Carolina, a rural congregation. Four years later, he accepted a call from Reformation Lutheran Church in Lakeland, Florida where he currently serves.
Pastor Wise enjoys outdoor settings that foster his spirituality. He donates his services each year to Lutheran Outdoor Ministries to foster the faith of campers, both child and adult staff and to renew himself spiritually. As a young man he was a group leader and counselor at Caroline Furnace.
His wife, Donna is also from the Shenandoah Valley and went to elementary and high school with Pastor Wise. Donna and Robert regularly pray together finding it centers them with God. Donna also comes from a Pastor family. Her grandfather was a Pastor and her brother, Kelly Day, is a Pastor at Shenandoah Valley Fellowship in Woodstock. Pastor Wise has a stepson, Matthew Leeds, a son Daniel Wise, and two daughters, Rebekah and Elizabeth Wise. Donna and Robert have a home in Edinburg, Virginia.
