Meeting on the second Wednesday of the month (except in the summer), the Congregation Council reviews activities of the past month, keeps up-to-date on the budget, and plans for upcoming ministries. Many volunteers participate and lead social and community service activities at Prince of Peace; in many cases, council members just check in to see if volunteers from the broader congregation need help. Some activities and ministries are initiated by the council before they become supported congregation-wide.
Members of the Council are elected to three-year terms at the annual Congregation Meeting. They are eligible to serve two consecutive terms. The pastor is an ad hoc member of the Council, and reports to the Council on time spent serving our congregation and community.
